Sore legs, Sweat and Tears
Here are the overall results for Woodend Senior School Cross Country. By Jono and Kyle
The Year Five girls started the day with the first run, with Tenaya leading the way for the most part of the race. Coming in close second was Maiya and third was Chelsea. Then suddenly the horn go's for the year five boys. After a quick and steady run the Year Five boys dominated the race with Joel in first, determined to finish this race in second place was Mathis, coming in third was Trey happy to come in the top three.
Then to the start line came the Year Six girls. It was tight race between the first three but in first came Lily, second was Frankie and third was Paris. The year six boys went flying off the start line, in first place Archie in second was Kaiden and third was Sebastian, these three love to battle it out!
After a short break the Year Seven girls started the Te Maunga races with a big lead, no one was going to stop Madison from winning, in second it was Taya and third was Amber. Next yep you guessed it, it was the athletic Year Seven boys in first it was Anton then Kyle and in third it was Kire. Some awesome examples of Sportsmanship was demonstrated here by our boys with lots of support for one another!
Then was the Year 8 girls in first it was Eva and Amy with a tie between them and in third was Jade. Last but definitely not least were the Year 8 Boys. Despite an injury to his shoulder in first was Isaac, just behind him was Lewis in second and right behind him was Shea with an astonishing finish.
The Sports Captains (Eva, Isaac and Lewis) not only worked hard to make sure the day was a success, they also managed to demonstrate their prowess at Sport, winning in their categories.
Overall it was a good but long day!Thanks to the adults and parents that helped and supported in the Cross Country and we hope to see you at zones too!
