Information for the upcoming NC Winter Tournament for the Te Maunga team, including the rules, draw and postponement information.

This Tuesday is the North Canterbury Winter Tournament for our Te Maunga teams. One of the highlights of our Sporting Year in the Seniors! We are looking forward to seeing how the students hard-work and training pays off.

TIMES AND LOCATIONS

Our students need to be at school BEFORE 8.45am on Tuesday in order to get on the bus in time. This is important as we need to leave by 9am in order to make briefing at 9.15am. We will be meeting in Te Maunga. The students will all need to be in their Sports Uniforms with the school polar fleece for warmth.

In the event of a postponement (and Tuesdays weather does not look great!) we will send an email out, post on the school Facebook and alert the office if you need to ring in. If possible please check Facebook and your emails first as this will allow our phone lines to stay open.

The grounds we will be playing on are as follows...

FOOTBALL: Marie Andrews

NETBALL: Dudley Courts

HOCKEY: Waimak Turf

TABLE TENNIS: Ashgrove School Hall

RUGBY: Will most likely be played at Southbrook, however there is a chance that the games will be moved to the Rangiora Showgrounds if the weather is bad over the weekend. A call for this will be made on Monday and we will alert the Rugby team on Monday if our venue has to be moved.

COACHING/MANAGING/REFEREEING

At each Sport we have a teacher overseeing the Woodend Teams. At Rugby is Mrs Neylon, at Netball is Whaea Geri, at Football is Mrs Watson and Mrs Siave and at Hockey is Mr Denton.

We are extremely fortunate that Kaiapoi High helps out with coaching and have provided us with coaches and refereeing for all our teams. Without them our teams would not be able to play. We are lucky that for the 5th year in a row Kaiapoi High have committed to helping us, despite being in hot demand from all other schools in the area!

A huge thanks to all the parents who have agreed to manage the teams too. If you have indicated you can manage then we definitely need you. If you could meet us at the venues at 9.15am that would be much appreciated. We still need parents at both Football and Hockey, if you can help please let us know asap. We don't need you coaching or umpiring, just helping and managing.

GEAR and PAYMENT

Please ensure that your child has the right gear and uniform. They need the safety gear that is needed for there Sport in order to play. (Rugby=Mouthguard, Football= Shinpads compulsory, Hockey= Shinpads and Mouthguard compulsory).

We are still waiting for a few more people to pay too. Please ensure this is paid for before Tuesday as anyone that has not paid will need to stay at school.

Uniforms were given out last week (with a few exceptions who will get their uniform on Monday). They need to wear this and have warm clothes to wear as well!
