Koru Games
by Emma NeylonKoru Games Information
Emma Neylon - September 3, 2016
The games will be held on the 13th-16th of September. All students will need to be at school before 8am (meeting in Mrs Neylon's room) over these three days and will not be returned to school until 4pm. A reminder that we need all students to have paid for the Koru Games before the 12th or else they will not be going along.
If the students do not already have their uniform then they will be receiving it this week. Along with their uniform the Rugby and Basketball teams will need a mouth guard and the Football team will need shin-pads in order to play.
On Thursday the 16th there will be a Paid Union Meeting for all Primary teachers. This will not effect any of the Koru Games teams as both Mrs Neylon and Whaea Geri have chosen to stay at the games instead. The children will be returned to school by 4pm despite school finishing early that day.
Furthermore, we are still needing help from parents over these 3 days. We still need a coach for Basketball and some more support at all three of the other sports. We do not need coaches at Soccer, Netball and Rugby but need some parents to commit to helping manage the team so the pressure is not all on the coach should someone get injured. If possible we also need some help at Rugby as we need someone with the Small Blacks Coaching qualification to support Mr Simpson. Even if you can just commit to one day helping out it would be a huge help to us and will help us ensure that the three days run smoothly.
All information regarding the day is on the website http://selwynsportstrust.org.nz/sporting-calendar/koru-games/ the draws are now up and on there as well.
