What we've been up to...
With four weeks to go, we've got still got a lot going on. Between reading the classics like Treasure Island, books about Third World countries, and challenging revision of analogue clocks, we are also in the midst of a heated wharemanu tournament.
We have also had students applying for our annual Te Ngahere teacher for a day, and have one more week of working on our passion projects before presentation next week.
Secret Santa
Te Ngahere are planning on running a fun secret santa game in week 10 . Your child(ren) will be coming home later this week with the name of another child in our team. The piece of paper has a couple of things the student likes or enjoys. If possible, we would love each student to buy a present for their buddy for no more than $10, keeping in mind the things they have written down that they like. We ask that all of the presents are in by Friday 8th December please. We will give the presents out on Tuesday 12th December and find out who their buddy was.
If there are any questions or concerns please feel free to email one of the Te Ngahere teachers.
No Assembly this week.
With Te Maunga colour day on this week, there are no assemblies. Ō Tātou Pou Certificates this week will be handed out before Te Ngahere Time with photos and notifications through Hero as usual.
Canterbury Athletics
We have 9 students from Te Ngahere heading to Canterbury athletics zones at Nga Puna Wai on Wednesday 29th November. We wish them good luck with this!
Maths
With less and less analogue clocks seen in the modern world, Time is always a difficult concept to teach. We've just spent two weeks going over how analogue clocks work and their relationship with the five times table.
Here are some clocks to read with your child.

Congratulations to Trinity's cheer team coming first in their division!
Housekeeping
Along with polar fleeces, we have a number of scooters left outside overnight and some even over the weekend. While we do our best to gather these and put them in Te Ngahere, please encourage your child to be responsible for their scooter. We also encourage students to have their first name and a cellphone contact number of their parents on the bottom of the scooter should it be found.
