Te Hāpua Scooter Use.
There have been big discussions happening within Te Hāpua about the rules for scooter riding - before, during and after school hours. Rewards for people who are following them!
We have had a reminder about the rules regarding our scooter riding. These rules are in place for our own (and the people around us) safety. Sometimes we can accidentally ride into people, and that can really hurt. So if we keep off our scooters, and walk them from place to place, then there is less of a chance of being hurt or of us hurting someone. There will be teachers handing out red and green certificates to the people who are caught following these rules and displaying amazing Intelligent Behaviours.
The rules are:
*Scooters are to be walked at all times within school grounds.
*The only exception is during Morning Tea and Lunchtimes, where we can ride our scooters on the basketball court.
*We have to remember to walk our scooters to and from the basketball court at Morning Tea and Lunchtimes.
*There is to be no scooter riding on the basketball court before school (8.30am-9am) and after school (3pm-3.20pm).
*No helmet = no scooter riding at Morning Tea and Lunchtimes. No exceptions!
Please have a look at some of our awesome role models displaying the correct way to use our scooters within school grounds.
