Pink Shirt Day at Woodend!
Pink Shirt day is a National Day to Celebrate Anti-Bullying.
If you did not already know Pink Shirt Day came to be because a 9th Grade Student called Jadrien Cota (Male student) in Canada wore a pink shirt during the first day of the school year in 2007 and got a lot of hurtful comments like, "Pink is for Girls" and lots of other rude comments. The next day a whole bunch of other boys wore a pink top to stand up for Jadrien Cota!
Woodend School thought it would be good to have a Pink Shirt Mufti Day to celebrate anti-bullying. It was so great to see every one in their pink tops, thanks to everyone who participated by wearing pink.
Thanks to Alicia and Ruby for your organisation of the day!
