Just a very quick update about some recent changes as well as a reminder to have a look at your child's progress and achievement.......

New Principal:

You will have all read about Andrew Retallick's appointment as the new Principal fro Woodend School. Some of you may even know of the local family that he is part of. He is very excited to be coming back to a school that he attended.  He will be coming to visit us later next term to meet staff, students and get to know us all a little before he starts in Term 4. I'm sure everyone will make him and his family welcome.

Changes in the Te Hapua Team for Term 3:

At the last Board of Trustees meeting, Stacey Chapman handed in her resignation from her position  here at Woodend.  It was reluctantly accepted to enable her to focus on her health and her family. We do wish her well and really hope to see her  back in some capacity in the future when she is feeling better. We are very fortunate to have had Alissa Hutton relieving for her and she will now continue in this position until the end of the year. She has quickly become part of the team and has enjoyed getting to know the students.

Alexandra Prosser has been appointed  to teach alongside Toni Ryan in Te Raupo for Terms 3 and 4 to cater to our growing number  of 5 year olds starting school for the rest of the year. She is an experienced teacher who has been involved in starting new entrant classes in various schools over the past few years.

New Staffroom Furniture:

 I'm sure you'll all agree that the new staffroom furniture looks amazing.  Thanks so much to our Board of Trustees for this great change. It is certainly an improvement on the old furniture that has been around for over 20 years or more!

Mid-year Progress and Achievement on Hero:

 Teachers have been working on posts for your children on learning areas and these are available on  Hero now. Please log in see what they have been up to. The progress and achievement graphs are also available for you to see. Any technical issue with logging in, please send an email with a screen shot of what is happening, your name and your child's full name  along with their team name to  Mike at m.crawford@woodend.school.nz.

Sickness amongst staff has meant that teachers have supported each other  with the process of uploading posts. so you may see a different teachers name on your child's post. Please be assured that your child's own teacher has written the post.
