Surfs Up in Te Ngahere!

Two weeks in with a trip to the beach! Read to see what we've been up to, and see a reminder to fill out our questionairre if you have yet to.

Hubs

We've been spending a lot of time with our home classes getting to know our students, but also having the chance to rotate the classes through the teachers.

We had a line of activities that got communication going, exercised team building skills, and allowed the students to express themselves.

Furthermore, we look forward to launching our core programmes this week.

Treaty

In our hubs we learned about the Treaty of Waitangi and created a treaty amongst the students and teachers that listed rights, responsibilities, and privileges. We have hung these documents on the wall after the students discussed, agreed, and signed them.

This is a document that teachers and students can look to keep everyone accountable in our space.

Surfing

Hub 1 and 2 went surfing in week 2 with surfcoach.co.nz, we had a great time.

Pip and Sarah Harris took the students on a walk through the ngāhere and looked for evidence of man. We found trees recently planted, trails that had been created and carefully maintained, and...rubbish!
