Surfing Video and Kaitakitanga Unit

We had a great time surfing and exploring the Ngahere for evidence of man made impact. Te Ngahere is taking a look at what it is to show Kaitakitanga (guardianship) and be a Kaitiaki (guardian) in our learning space. 

Mathematics

Matific 

Our students have been using a new mathematics app - They have profiles, a username and a password, and activities to work through in class and at home if they wish.  Currently, Teachers are still learning to use the app and tying it in with our current testing of students academics. We hope to have our students assigned with activities that cater best to their needs within the next two weeks. 

Times Table Rockstar -

We have introduced a Times Table app/game to the students. 

Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice. Students have their logins and are encouraged to practice at home.

Teachers have set times tables, and it will be under GARAGE.

STIN interviews

A reminder that our STIN interviews are on Wednesday.

How does the STIN hui work?

Before: Before the hui the students will have identified their own strengths, talents, interests and needs with their teacher. Parents will also complete a STIN template about their child and bring this along to share at the hui.

During: Parents/caregivers will meet the teacher & child, each child will share their strengths, talents, needs and interests, parents will share their STIN template and then together create shared goals for term 1.

After: The child’s goals for term 1 will be added to HERO and then reflected on at the end of term 1.

Use the HERO app to make a booking

• All caregivers will receive an email and notification to advise them that bookings can now be made. Caregivers can view and manage their own bookings via the HERO App

• Navigate to the School Bookings event and click ADD or MANAGE BOOKINGS,

• This will display a table of all available slots for all of their associated students, to enable them to coordinate bookings across multiple students.

• To add a booking, click a GREEN slot. The booking popup will be displayed. Clicking CONFIRM will secure the interview slot.
