Here are some updates with what we've been up to, and what we have coming up.
Epro8
We had our annual Epro8 Challenge last week. There was some fierce competition as the students had to make a certificate handing out machine.
We hope to roll all our Te Ngahere students through using our own ePro8 kit throughout this year.
Mathematics
We've been working on some level 3 area and perimeter learning objectives to practice our measurement, multiplication, and addition skills.
Challenge your child and see if they can solve any of these.
Cross Country
Our Cross Country went ahead on Thursday, and we saw some fantastic participation despite the wet terrain.
Students will be notified early this week if they have progressed to the North Canterbury Cross Country Champs. We will need help with transport and support with supervision on the day please. This is on Tuesday 30th May at the Rangiora show grounds. We will be leaving school at 11.30am-ish. Specific info will be on the permission slip sent home with the runners.
Missing Jersey
Keeley Hassan is missing her polar fleece - It is named. Could you please check your child's polar fleece?
Certificates
In week 6, we will be having another assembly - Families who have children receiving certificates will get a notification through hero. It is much easier for us to notify specific families that way than through text message. As always, please let m.crawford@woodend.school.nz if you need help with hero
Perform Education present 'Honk!'
This Friday at 11am, Senior students will be watching 'Honk!' at the community centre. Click the link to read a little bit about the show. Honk! show costs $2, thanks to all families who have paid already. This can be paid online or in the morning in the Te Ngahere Space.
Talent Shows
We've had an analogue focus on our Friday talent shows. We've been selecting two groups each Friday to present a performance without electronics and so far we've seen some amazing singing, dancing, and some doing both!
Reminder about Swimming
Through the school donation scheme and funding provided my North Canterbury Sport and Recreation trust the cost of the lessons and buses is fully covered this year. However, to make the most of our time at Dudley we give our students the opportunity to take part in a rec swim. The cost for this to parents in $21.50 at $2.15 a swim. This is an excellent offer we are extremely fortunate to have such responsible options available to us. This can be paid via school banking or cash brought to the Te Ngahere space. Please contact office@woodend.school.nz to arrange for funds to be used from your account.
Swimming will be taking place in week 9 & 10 in the afternoons, returning before 3pm.
