Cycle Sense - Hub 2

Into Week 9! Here's what we have been up to, with a few notes on upcoming events.

Maths

These last two weeks in algebra we have been looking at patterns made with squares tiles and how these patterns can be continued. We have looked at different ways to predict how the patterns continue. Designing a rule helps tells you how to go from the number of squares in one figure to the number of squares in the next.

What is Term 4...What is Term 10?

Ask your child what happens in term 4? How Many squares? How many in term 10?

What rule could we design to predict s(squares) = T(term) ?

You could use the x (multiplication) or + or - to make one.

Ecoeducate

Eco Educate came to Te Ngahere to share some important information around recycling. Did you know that lids and even can lids are not recyclable and have to be put into the rubbish? The children listened so well and asked a lot of questions around recycling and how it all works, so this was a really valuable lesson for the children to be able to participate in.

Walking your wheels

We are still having an issue with students riding their bikes and scooters through our school resulting in near misses and collisions with parents, teachers, and children. we walk our wheels from 8.30 -9am and 3.00-3.10.
