Pink Shirt Day!

Heading into week 5, along with swimming starting on Monday, here are a few reminders of upcoming events.

Swimming - Monday 30th May - Friday 10th June

We have swimming lessons beginning on Monday. We're lucky that the swimming starts at 9.30 for the first group and the last group gets back around 12.30. We have timetabled our plan to cover all subjects across the 2 weeks.

Please remember for your child -

  • Swimsuit
  • A separate bag for their togs,
  • A towel

This is a good opportunity to check that your child's clothing is named. We occasionally have a Woodend school shirt mismatch when they are unnamed.

Pink Shirt Day

Despite the weather, that was one of the best Pink Shirt Days we've had.
Thank you the the community for putting on an excellent bake sale! What a well oiled machine.

Teacher's Only Day

On Friday the 3rd of June, we will have a Teacher's only Day,

Queens Birthday

A reminder that on Monday the 6th of June, school will be out for Queen's Birthday.

Heritage School Photos

These will be taking place on the Friday 10th of June before we go to swimming.

Sausage Sizzle

This will be returning on the 10th of June refer to this article for details.

Intelligent Behaviour Certificates

Well done to Lily S, Lily D, Asher, Ruby, Mark, Max, Aleah, Estelle & Scarlet all of who received an Intelligent behaviour certificate. Click here to see the pics .

Polar Fleeces

We have a system of finding stray polar fleeces, hats, drink bottles and handing them out at the end of the day. We can't however always account for clothing and gear that has been left throughout the exterior of the school. We have an increasing number of polar fleeces and drink bottles that are unnamed and unclaimed. We do our best to identify and match where we can, however we please request that clothing be named where it can, especially with swimming starting on Monday.

ICT Computation thinking Skills

As you may have heard from some of your children, Scratch is very popular in Te Ngahere.
Check out Brie's Trivia game.

Check out Ryan's Balloon Chase.

These are just of a couple of the many projects that students are sending me - A shout out to Lucas F, Sam W, Harry Jory who have sent in their works in progress.

Mr Crawford in Isolation

You may have heard that Mr C is in isolation. He is aiming to return on Thursday the 2nd of June. For all day to day running, Miss Loose and Miss Ellis will be able to answer your questions at school. We are also lucky to have Matt Manzl relieving for Mr C consistently while he is away. Mr Manzl has worked with Te Ngahere throughout the year and knows our systems, routines, and expectations. He will be joining Miss Loose and Miss Ellis for swimming through the week.
