Swimming
What a fantastic couple of weeks of swimming. The pool and the bus company complimented Te Ngahere students on how well they showed their intelligent behaviours.
School Photos
What a sharp looking set of students we had come in on Friday. Stay tuned for more info on ordering soon.
Roz Ellis
As Miss Ellis will be having her baby, she will be taking some time off in Te Ngahere. Although she will be missed dearly, in her place, we are lucky to have Matt Manzl filling in for her for term 3 and 4. Matt is an experienced teacher who has been working with Te Ngahere over the last few weeks and has come to know our students well. There will be information around parent student interviews with Miss Ellis & Mr Manzl coming soon.
Winter Tournament
A notice will be coming out about Winter Tournament and Te Ngahere's involvement later this week.
Jumping June/Wharemanu Day
On Friday the 17th of June, we will be having our Jumping June day at school. This is going to be combined with our Term 2 Whare Manu Day. This will be a free event, which will include lots of fun games and activities. On this day students can dress up as someone they look up to as in the poster below.
Student Teachers
We are lucky enough to have Theo Field, and Jess Henwood with us for Week 6 and Week 7. We will then have them again for a month in term 4.
Maths Everywhere!
It's so cool for teachers hearing stories of students practicing their mathematics with their parents in real life contexts. Here is Georgia determined to get her equal adjustments down.
Silent Reading
Silent reading is really taking off for some students, it's great to see a culture of reading books for enjoyment happening. Here is Lucas caught reading while holding the gate for students returning for swimming!
Intelligent Behaviour Certificates
Well done to Ariya, Charlotte, and Kadee who received intelligent behaviour certificates this week
Learning Posts & Progress Graphs
We are currently finishing our learning posts and assessing data to provide a snapshot of where your child is with their progress against the curriculum. We look forward to discussing them with you at our parent teacher interviews. More detail to come on this soon.
Cross Country
Well done to the Te Ngahere students who represented Woodend School at the Pegasus Zones. They should be very proud of their efforts. A MASSIVE shout out to Ariya who is progressing through to the Canterbury Zones after coming second at Pegasus! Good luck Ariya!
