Te Ngahere Students Perform - About a Girl

Into Week 3!

Upcoming Dates

Friday 27th October - Wharemanu Day & Assembly (11am at community Centre)

Tough Kids - Wednesday 6th December.

Te Ngahere is lucky enough to be involved in the Tough Kids event for 2023.

So what is Tough Kids?

Sport Canterbury Tough Kids is an urban style obstacle course for primary aged students.

Students will compete as individuals within their respective age groups. Obstacles will include tyre runs, hurdle jumps, water slides, bouncy castles, hay bale climbs and more. It is a very fun race where students can walk, jog or run with friends or adults. Parents and teachers are welcome to participate. They will need to bring a change of clothes if they want to take part!!!

This event will be held on Wednesday 6th December. It will be held at South Brighton Park, and we require parent transport to and from the event. We will need to leave school around 11am, and we will be back before 3:00.

The cost is $4 per student. You can pay this in cash to a Te Ngahere teacher, or online via the school bank account.

Music

Ryan, Deklan, and Spencer have been putting a lot of practice into their Nirvana cover.

Music isn't a pursuit that provides instant gratification. These boys have really worked hard practising this song that is full of both open, and barre chords. Fast chord changes, and a deceptively tricky solo. Well done boys!

Passion Projects

Te Ngahere students will soon start a passion project for term 4. Mr C, Miss Loose, and Mr Langlands, modelled how to do an inquiry using learning about their cars as a passion project. M Pakeke checking Mr C's oil result in a critical learning moment about the importance of keeping their engine lubricated.

Students will this week immerse themselves in a variety of books from the National library to choose what passion project they want to engage in with the goal of learning about something they love.
