Week 10 learning: This week we are busy finishing our units of work and completing art work. We have some exciting activities planned which are connected to Easter this week. Teachers have activities available for students who do not wish to participate in these holiday activities.
Library Books and Readers: Please return all library books this week. We will not be getting out new books this week. All readers should also be returned although parents who would like extra reading over the holidays can request additional readers from their teacher.
Hats: All hats will be sent home this week for Term 2 and 3. These can remain at home for this period.
Whare Manu Day: This Wednesday will be the last day Whare Manu day for the term. These fun filled days are fantastic for building connections across the year groups. Please send your children to school in their house colours this Wednesday (tomorrow).
Te Hapua Fun Run: This Wednesday will also be the Te Hapua fun run. We will held this at 11.30m in the junior play area. Students will run the obstacle course in their house groups. You can cheer them on as they jump and climb and balance through the circuit. At the end of the session each class will announce a best dressed for whare manu outfits. The event should last 30-40 minutes. Families are welcome!
Whole School Learning Celebration: This will be held on Thursday at 9.10am in the Community Centre. Families are welcome to attend this assembly - we would love to see you there!
Toys at school: We have recently had a large number of toys arriving at school. This has created some problems with toys going missing and being played with during class times. We encourage students to leave all toys at home and if they are sharing news to pick a topic, event or activity that can provide a chance for other learners to learn something new or ask questions about an event. Photos are always a wonderful way to share this news.
Swimming: Next term Te Hapua students will be swimming daily in Week 5 and 6. We are thrilled to advise that Main power will be funding these swimming lessons.
Year 2 will be swimming At Dudley Park Aquatic Centre @ 10.00-12.00pm
Week 5 – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday (no Thursday)
Week 6 – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday (no Thursday)
Year 0 -1 will be swimming At Dudley Park Aquatic Centre @ 12.30-2.30pm
Week 5 – Monday to Friday
Week 6 – Monday to Friday
Please touch base with your child's pakeke teacher to confirm their swimming time. We will take the bus to and from the pools.
Luke the Pukeko: Every Friday students get to take our class mascot home for the weekend. Here are some photos of the students who took Luke home this past weekend. There are additional photos attached to the newsletter of some of our recipients.
We are excited to finish the term with such a fun and exciting week! Please touch base with your child's pakeke teacher if you have any questions.
