What an amazing day we had today at Hukanui Marae! We started with a moving poowhiri and then moved into the wharenui to complete the process and learn about the history of the marae and Ngaati Wairere. The children listened intently and asked some great questions. Following this, we moved through rotations which included traditional Maaori games, waiata, a hikoi around the grounds, rākau, and completing an activity booklet. So many learning opportunities were on offer and our tamariki were outstanding and fully immersed themselves in everything available.
