Paula Wine —

Kia ora koutou,

It is such a cliche, but where has the year gone? It has truly flown by!

It has been a wonderful year at Woodstock...thinking back over the year about all of the cool activities and events, the highlights for me were the Production About Time: A Woodstock Story, and our 70 years' celebration. Plus all the other events in between have made this year special and memorable. It's been wonderful seeing the children participate in sports, music, dance, and cultural groups. As I read through the children's reports I am so pleased with how they have progressed in their learning, grown and matured, and shown our school values. I am very, very proud of our Woodstockers.

I would like to take this time to acknowledge our staff at Woodstock. I could not be more proud of the team we have at our kura. I want to say thank you to them for their dedication, care and hard work. They truly go above an beyond and this makes Woodstock a pretty special place to be. Thank you to our team.

A big thank you to our PTA. Our PTA is a group of committed parents and staff get together once a month to assist with fundraising and school activities. The PTA often raises money which funds projects to improve our school. We really appreciate our PTA.

I would also like to acknowledge our Board of Trustees, Johanna Park (Presiding Member), Craig Blomfield, Dave McHugh, Anne Marie Guiney, Miko Brouwer, Saara Abdulrahman, and Janeen Foote (Secretary for the Board). We are fortunate to have such a capable board, dedicated to supporting us to be the best school we can be. Thank you to our Board.

And finally, I would like to say thank you to you, our parents, caregivers and whānau; your support for and involvement in school life makes such a difference! Primary Schools are special places where we get to have a connection with families for many years. We feel privileged that you chose to entrust us with the care and education of your child. If you've been a longtime family, we wish you all the best. We will miss you and we would love for you to stay connected with us.

Next week we have lots to look forward to. Monday is our whole-school fun day (see note below in this newsletter), Tuesday is our whole-school final awards ceremony, and Wednesday is our last day of school. Final reports will be given out after lunch on Wednesday. Remember that we have an EARLY FINISH on Wednesday at 1:30 pm.

We will see all children back on Monday, February 3rd, 2025.

Wishing you a merry Christmas and a restful break. Ngā mihi, Paula
