We love it when our students connect learning at school with the real world! For the past few weeks, we have all been learning a waiata that includes New Zealand’s longest place name. Jett and Jai travelled to the Hawke’s Bay in the weekend and made a special detour to visit the place that they have been learning to say: Taumata whakatangi hangakoauau o tamatea turi pukakapiki maunga horo nuku pokai whenua kitanatahu. Many of our tamariki wowed us at Singing Assembly last week by saying this place name with confidence and speed. Give it a go - kōrero mai!
