Tuakana-Teina 2022

Jo Brooks —

We have created this new role as we are wanting our students to share a tuakana teina relationship, which is an integral part of Te Ao Māori, providing a model for buddy systems. In our students' role, older students will support and nurture younger students at break times.

Congratulations to the students listed below who have been chosen for this leadership Tuakana Teina rōpū (group) for 2022. These students have been identified as being flexible, adaptable and able to work well with others. We have already seen these leaders showing these skills! At lunchtimes these students are currently supporting our younger tamariki who are playing with the mud kitchen and play boxes. They will lead WARM conversations to support other students as well as show initiative in organising activities independently. We are looking forward to getting them brand new vests so that they can be easily identified around our school.

Congratulations Brilee Hutton-Winika, Jade Pace, Madison James, Flynn Wansbrough , Lilah Partridge, Finley Hooper-Smith , Emily Mines, Ashlee Bellamy, Frances Lamberton, Marlee Walker, Holly Warren, Jack Anderson, Keziah Boulton, Madison Milne-White, Jared Hippolite, Millar Quayle, Lucy Blomfield, Taiawhio Rusling, Layla-Rose Pouwhare, Abigail Fung, Reece Noble, Ashley Pattenden, Elise Richardson, Abigail de Wet, Hamza Hassan, Isabella Anderson, Harlem Mataia, Cali-Jade Moosman, Eva Hirst, Milan Marra, Addison Goldsmith, Cameron Hurly, Tessa Marinkovich, Marie Blackwell-Paenga, Natasha Beuzeval, Alex Mills, Maggie Leitch, Jade Keating, Niya McSweeney, Riaz Jones, Harry Denton..
