Grounds & Play
We are very fortunate to have beautiful, spacious school grounds for our tamariki to enjoy each day.
Scooter Track
Our school has a fun rolling scooter track where every day is wheels day! Students are encouraged to bring their scooters, skates, and skateboards to school for some wheely fun (no bikes, please). Remember, safety is our priority!
Helmets must be worn and fit well.
Scooter handlebar grips are fitted and cover the handles.
Handlebars are secure and facing forward.
Safe and secure wheels and platforms on skateboards.
Know how to stop!
Swimming Pool
Our school offers swimming lessons and water confidence activities for our children during Term 1. Additionally, there's an optional 'Tryathalon' that takes place in our school pool. Even better, our school pool is open for our community to enjoy during the summer months. Please note that access will depend on decisions made by our Pool Committee in 2025. Let's look forward to making a splash and having fun in the water!
Loose Parts Play
Come and explore the exciting materials we have on our grounds! Children are encouraged to unleash their creativity with items like tyres, small pallets, branches from the Poplar trees, and large plastic containers. Our students love building huts among the trees using these fun loose parts.
‘Loose parts’ are ordinary, everyday, open-ended materials that can be manipulated and used in various ways, moved, carried, shared, combined and taken apart in various configurations and designs. There are no specific directions accompanying the materials and many various outcomes are possible from their use. They have high affordance value in terms of what they can offer or provide to support children’s play, exploration and cognitive development, and can be easily transformed with children’s imagination.
Sandpit
Children can enjoy playing with small shovels, buckets, and toy vehicles in our spacious area. Let their imaginations run wild as they dig, build, and create adventures in the sand.
