Angela Taylor is on secondment for Terms 3 and 4 2021

Allan Robertson —

Congratulations to Angela Taylor who has won the position of Leader of Learning for the Urū Manuka Kahui Ako.

Kia ora Te Māhuri Whanau

It is always great to see staff awarded positions that come about as an acknowledgement of their expertise and ability. With this in mind, I know I speak on behalf of our YMS BoT and staff when I congratulate Angela on winning the position of the Leader of Learning for the Urū Manuka Kahui Ako.

In her new role, Angela will be providing professional development for staff in Gilberthorpe School, Hornby High School, Hornby Primary, South Hornby Primary School, St Bernadette's School, Templeton School, Wigram Primary School - Te Piki Kahu and Yaldhurst Model School.

As you will see from the last school on this list Angela will not become a stranger to us. We will see her at least once per week at YMS when she comes to provide professional development for our teachers who are always upskilling in their approaches to teaching while utilizing the affordances of e-Learning.

Please see the separate article in our 21 June newsletter wherein you will be introduced to Quenten Brown who is our new teacher in Te Māhuri for Terms 3 and 4 of 2021. Quenten will be continuing with the planning and style of teaching that has proven to be so successful with engaging our students.

Please note that Angela has been seconded beginning Week 9 of this term and so Sarah Monroe has been employed short term to teach with Gabrielle Lange until the end of the term. Sarah is well known to the students in Te Māhuri and will follow the classroom planning that Angela and Gabrielle have prepared for the rest of the term.

It is always a little bit sad to say goodbye to someone with whom you work and who brings passion alongside a sense of fun. But it is these qualities, among many others, that have made Angela the ideal person to share her knowledge with all teachers with the Uru Mānuka Kahui Ako.
