  • Does your child or young people you are working with have trouble managing their big emotions?
  • Do you find it difficult as an adult in their life to understand and support them when their emotions get the best of them?


Join Becky Voisey and Jonathon Crosby, two Mana Ake Kaiārahi, to learn some essential skills to help the young people in your life.

This evening workshop will help parents learn how to support their tamariki when they’re experiencing big emotions.

This workshop will also be highly relevant to teaching staff, or those working with or caring for young people.

  • Understand the role of emotional intelligence and how to foster it in your tamariki
  • Learn some tools around ‘emotion coaching’ – tuning into your child’s feelings, and helping them cope and self-regulate
  • Explore the importance of looking after yourself when supporting your young person
  • Te Whare Awhero (Hope House) will also share their input and vision for the community
