On Wednesday morning, as a school we helped Fowler Landscaping with their quest to plant 950 native trees in our community. Did we plant Tōtara Trees too? Yes, indeed we did!
'
What a morning we had! Tamariki learned why the winter months were the best time to plant, what depth to plant a tree, how planting native trees provided food for our native bird life and how in turn a bird's digestive system released seeds that self sow and grow into trees with the help of nature.
Our local community constable stopped by to say hello and joined in on the fun! Yaldhurst School Tōtara Tūkaha students 'dig' planting and have proven to have quite the knack for gardening!
This is how it looked on Thursday morning. What a stunning team of HERO's we have!
We hope you enjoyed these photos.
