Interesting facts:- Not only the Yaldhurst School Headmaster but was also a part owner of an old London Library known as the "Hookhams Library" he was also the Chess Editor of the "Canterbury Times" and 'President of Canterbury Chess Club", he won the 1870 "Canterbury Chess Tournament" - I think he may have unknowingly, been the first YMS HERO too!

Memoirs of YMS Teacher Miss H F Freeman,1915-1927

In the Centennial Celebrations 1876-1975 Miss Freeman shared her memories of being a teacher at our school. What you are about to read was published in the Centennial Celebrations 1876 -1976. The celebration took place over two days, Saturday 24th - Sunday 25th January 1976. It is a fairly long story, therefore to be fully enjoyed, it may be best served with a cup of tea.

The Yaldhurst Board of Trustees' approved the build of the school pool using the school committee raised funds. The Yaldhurst Model School Pool was built in 1896.
