Having worked as a teacher for many years I innately understand the pressures school staff face. The stress of a Friday afternoon, hurriedly trying to tie up loose ends as well as writing the articles for my year group to put out in the school newsletter... waiting on my colleagues to complete theirs. Why are they taking so long?! I do wonder if they feel the same stress. 

Anxiously peering at my watch hoping it's not yet 4pm.

Phew, sent. Done. Relief. The lovely, relaxing weekend is just a hop, step, jump away.....

Then the dreaded phone call from the admin team.  The format is wrong, the pictures are blurry AND the wrong size! The insistency that I must include that one particular picture (that I apparently took 3 weeks ago on sports day). Why is it always the picture you want to find, you seemingly cannot find, anywhere!? Why does this always happen to me... I mean thought I was organised and fairly IT literate.... 

As I sip into my lukewarm coffee I ponder why teachers have to suffer this fate ( I mean surely we face enough daily stress as it is). As I begrudgingly scroll through my computer once again trying to find that picture of me clapping and Mr Jones smiling at the children as they smile back looking all so elated, I pray this is the right picture and the right size. The time I have spent on word doc, PDF, creating these articles — amending, chasing colleagues, I will never, ever get back. I gaze pensively into my coffee cup ( the milk has curdled so much that it is starting to smell). I feel slightly resentful that I didn't get time to enjoy this.  It was so unnecessary. There must be a better way!
