Year 5-6 Writer's Toolbox Information Evening
Earlier this term, I wrote about the Writer's Toolbox. It is a new school-wide approach to teaching Writing. The special newsletter for Year 5-6 students who have the opportunity to use an online platform to improve their writing is linked here.
On Tuesday of the first week of Term 2, we will hold a parent evening for Year 5-6 families where you can learn more about the teaching, learning and how the platform can help your child.
If you would like to attend the session, please click this link to register so we can be prepared.
School Communications in Term 2
Please remember that this is the last newsletter that will be automatically emailed to you. From Term 2, if you want to continue to receive the newsletter by email, you will need to adjust the settings in the @school app.
Everyone who has not logged into the @school app has been emailed at least twice this term, and the information on how to log on has been in several newsletters. It is linked again here.
If you have not been able to log on yet, please take the time to do so as soon as possible. The newsletter linked above includes a link to a help form if you are still having problems.
On Friday, Cherie Bibbie and I will be outside Room 6 from 2pm to provide help to anyone who still needs it. Please make sure you have downloaded the @school app before you arrive at school so we can give you the help that you need.
Please return your pool key
Summer came to a rather abrupt end last weekend. Please remember that the pool will be closed on Friday afternoon.
If you have a pool card, please return this to the office by the end of week 1 Term 2 to receive your $50 bond refund.

ANZAC Day - Friday 25 April
Anzac Day Ceremony
Thank you to the students who will be representing the school on ANZAC Day with the laying of a wreath in Browns Bay.
ANZAC Day / Rā o ngā Hōi is a national day of remembrance that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served". Observed on 25 April each year, Anzac Day was originally devised to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand defense force who served in the Gallipoli campaign, their first engagement in World War One.
