Amesbury Digest - 26 October 2020

Kia ora

Hopefully all of the kids have enjoyed/are enjoying their 4 day weekend and that you were able spend at least a portion of it as family time. The teachers, of course, only had a 3 day weekend (if they were lucky) because of the Teacher only day on Friday where they spent the day continuing their work on the development of our maths programme across the school. I understand that it was a most productive 'thinking' day and that the kids will continue to benefit from the preparation, care and dedication of our teachers.

You will see in the notices, links to our various 'Camp Week' activities for Koru & Harakeke Hubs. Some final details for the Pōhutukawa Hub's week of activities are being finalised early this coming week and will be send out to those parents when this is completed. Please complete the permission & information forms attached to those articles as soon as you can. Thanks.

Due to the uncertainly around covid-19, a decision was made several months ago to alter the format of this year's EOTC (Education Outside of the Classroom). Having said that, what the kids will be doing will be no less fun or educational than in past years.

Don't forget to encourage your children, if they are interested, to sign up for the Amesbury Speech Competition. Entries close this coming Friday (30 October). Based on the quality of the entrants in the 'Amesbury's Got Talent' last term, there's obviously a lot of hidden gems out there to join the not so hidden ones.
