Vicar (full time) in Johnsonville

The Anglican Diocese of Wellington is seeking a vicar for St John's Parish in Johnsonville, Wellington.
    by Anglican Movement

Applications are now open for the full-time role of Vicar of St John's Parish, Johnsonville. The successful candidate will lead a flourishing parish community into its next stage of life and growth with God, supporting and supported by an established team of ordained and lay ministry leaders, a vibrant children's and youth ministry, a staffed Parish Office and administrative support.

The Parish encompasses Holy Trinity church in Ōhāriu Valley, a new missional outreach into Churton Park, and ongoing ministry in Johnsonville.

We are seeking a leader or leaders who will continue the growth of our parish through engagement with local communities, guiding teams and developing leaders, providing pastoral care, and performing the sacramental worship and teaching roles expected of a parish priest. We prefer candidates who can effectively engage with the local schools in the area.

St John's has two regular Sunday services—a warmly traditional NZ Prayerbook service and a contemporary service combining the Anglican liturgy with a more informal worship style that involves youth and children. There is also a Thursday morning communion service.

For more information, including our Parish Profile, please contact the Bishop's assistant Paul Carey (paul@anglicanmovement.nz) to whom applications including a CV should be sent by 5pm on Friday, 26 April 2024.
