Coaching - key leadership skill to help grow disciples.

How are people transformed by the gospel? Mentoring and coaching will help but some training is necessary.

Coaching is an essential skill in discipling and mentoring. Whether you have a staff team or you're sole charge, you will benefit from learning how to coach others. These skills have the potential to revolutionize your ministry.

Organizational Psychologist John Eatwell has graciously agreed to lead this seminar for anyone in the Diocese who wants to attend. It will take place on Friday 28 April from 9am - 5pm in the Anglican Centre - spaces a limited.

The cost is $220 which covers an in-depth analysis of your personal strengths - John has donated his time free of charge. This on-line assessment will take place a week before the seminar and the results will form the basis of one of the learning modules.

You can apply for financial support through the Lay Training Fund or the Clergy Professional Development Fund.

What you can expect to learn at the Coaching Training Course;

  • What is coaching and why it’s important for you and your parish
  • How to use your personal strengths to flourish and achieve more
  • How to use coachable moments
  • How to listen well and ask the right questions
  • How to generate options and possibilities while coaching
  • How to clarify goals to give long-term vision and short-term motivation
"We are passionate about coaching and see it as the fundamental leadership tool. Implementing coaching has proven positive impacts on transfer of learning from training, increases in productivity, reduction of stress and burnout, increases in development culture and focus on goals and engagement." John Eatwell
