It really is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of the year!

Kia ora Whanau and friends of our Year 8 community. Term 4’s programmes will see the students utilise the numerous skills they have been developing over the last 2 years. From experience, our Term 4 programme reinforces the foundations required by your child to springboard into the next stage of their schooling.

Our Year 7 classes are well underway with our "pARticipate" PBL theme underway. The term has started really well with many activities in the Arts happening in our classrooms with rotations in drama, dance and music,

Some of our pupils have recently completed the ICAS examinations which are an international competition designed to recognise and reward academic excellence.

Friday 3 November

Year 7 students have been heading out on class trips to long beach to participate in rock climbing. Check out room 4's highlights.

On Thursday we had the final of the Year 7 & 8 table tennis schools competition and Balmacewen teams featured on the podium in all four divisions.

On the 1st of November a group of Balmacewen students made the trip down to Portchalmers to participate in the dunedin triathlon.

On the 13th of October we were privileged enough to have our ex Balmacewen students Oliver and Zach come in to have a Q and A session.

Well done to our Jump Jam team that went to Nationals in the weekend.

Over this term all of our students have planned, researched and written a speech as part of oral language programmes.

In term 3 a number of Balmacewen students sat the Australian Mathematics Competition. This is the best known Mathematics Competition in New Zealand and Australia and has been running for 45 years. We have had a very large number of students achieve excellent results in this competition.

Below is a brief survey asking for constrictive feedback, suggestions or ideas you may see best fit to enhance Sport here at Balmacewen Intermediate in the near future. If you wish to fill it out, that would be very much appreciated.

The final group of Year 8 students have started their rotation in Foods.

The students are learning to adapt their recipes and demonstrating a growth mindset with new flavours or combinations
