Office (Bishopdale School) - October 18, 2022

Congratulations to this week's Stars of the Week, who are:

Sacha-Lee Isaacs in Tī-Kōuka

Sacha-Lee started school in our New Entrants class on Monday and is already settling in really well.  She has spent some time colouring in some beautiful artwork, which is up on the wall, and enjoys listening to stories her teacher reads in class.  Sacha-Lee hasn't really had a chance to play on all the playground equipment yet but is looking forward to spending time out there during her breaks.

Saleh Hossaini in Mataī

Saleh said he likes being back at school.  He had a great time during the holidays though.  He went to Queenstown and had a ride on the Gondola and then raced down the top of the hill in a go-cart with his friends.  In class he is getting back into the swing of things by learning his 6x tables.  Saleh is looking forward to athletics this term and especially likes running and the high jump.

Alize Ladds in Kōwhai

Alize had a great holiday playing with her Barbie dolls but was a bit disappointed her brother didn't really want to play with them with her, but spent most of his time on his xbox.  She also went to the mall with her family and had her favourite sushi followed by chocolate.  Alize has been learning so much in class this week that she can't remember all the things she has been taught.  She is looking forward to athletics this term and said she is a fast runner.

Hadi Shafiyee in Koromiko

Hadi spent some of his holiday at Hanmer Springs with his Dad, brother and cousin.  They had fun whizzing down the hydroslides and then relaxing in the hot pools.  Hadi found spending time in the hot pools makes you quite hungry and afterwards enjoyed some fries with mayo and chilli sauce, and L & P.  In class he has been learning about different shapes and angles in geometry.

Ari Spicer in Kānuka

Ari had a really relaxing break from school.  His Uncle visited from Australia and they spent time at the park and at the river.  Ari used to live in Australia when he was little and said it was much warmer over there.  He still keeps in touch with his old friends and has lots of fun gaming with them online.  For his Birthday this year he is hoping to get some new games and then for Christmas a comfortable gaming chair.

Jing Shui in Kahikatea

Jing spent most of her holidays waiting for the new updated iPad to come out, as her iPad doesn't work anymore.  She said it should be coming out next Friday.  She also went to her friend, Georgia's, 10th Birthday party.  She likes being back at school again and playing with her friends.  This term she said she is going to work really hard so that she achieves a good end of year report, and hopefully receive a nice gift from her Mum and Dad.  Jing is looking forward to athletics and hopes they will have an obstacle course as she loves skipping.

Taniela Inisi in Tōtara

Taniela enjoyed taking part in Orienteering this morning at the Groynes with his classmates as part of the William Pyke Challenge.  During the holidays he spent lots of time relaxing with his family.  Back at school today, he has been 'buddy reading' (helping younger children to read) with William.  Unfortunately, Taniela will be leaving us this Friday as he is moving to Australia.
