Leslie Groves Hospital and Rest Home -Dunedin

Chaplain – Contractor Position (Up to 15 Hours per Week)

Leslie Groves Hospital and Rest Home is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to provide spiritual and pastoral care to our residents, their families, and our staff.

This contractor position offers up to 15 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling to best meet the needs of our facility. The Chaplain will play a vital role in ensuring residents receive spiritual guidance and emotional support in a nurturing and respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a weekly service at both our Rest Home and Hospital sites.

  • Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance in line with the core objectives of chaplaincy.

  • Offer emotional and spiritual support to residents, families, and staff.

  • Maintain continuity of care through a structured and consistent approach.

  • Provide compassionate, inclusive support to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Work collaboratively with residents, families, staff, and the broader community.

About You:

  • Relevant experience in chaplaincy, pastoral care, or spiritual guidance.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic nature.

  • Ability to provide interfaith support, respecting the diverse spiritual needs of our residents.

  • Experience and qualifications relevant to chaplaincy services.

  • A self-motivated individual who can work independently within a healthcare setting.

Proposal Submission Requirements:

Interested individuals or organisations should submit a proposal outlining:

1.      Experience and qualifications relevant to chaplaincy services.

2.     Proposed approach to delivering the required services.

3.     Fee structure and any contract terms.

4.     Availability and flexibility in scheduling.
