This week has seen Student-Led Conferences take place. The purpose of these meetings are for the students to have the chance to explain their progress, reflect on accomplishments, and set goals. If you were unable to attend a conference please do not hesitate to contact your child’s classroom teacher to arrange an alternative time.

Each year, Casebrook presents one of our students with the Sir Peter Blake Young Leader Award.

The New Zealand Book Awards Trust have teamed up again with HELL Pizza to encourage school-age children to read more. Their reading programme runs through schools and libraries nationwide. Our school library is again offering this reading challenge reward system.

Nico Porteous, at 16 years of age became New Zealand's youngest Olympic medal-winning athlete. Nico took time to catch up with our student leadership team as part of Sir Peter Blake Leadership week in the last week of term two.

John Parsons is New Zealand’s leading authority on safeguarding children online, will deliver a cyber safety presentation to our community.

The purpose of the Science Badge programme is to extend and enrich students in science at Level 3 and 4 of the New Zealand Curriculum. Students have the opportunity to study a specific science topic of their choice, in depth. By completing a range of graded activities and exercises, students receive an attractive badge and certificate.

The Casebrook Water Polo teams are heading to Dunedin in October for the South Island Champs. We are holding a garage sale to fundraise and are looking for any donations of items that are in good condition.

On Wednesday the 13th of June 2018 Hailee, Makalah, Evie, Maia, Olivia, Chloe, Emma and Amber went to the Primary Sports Canterbury gymnastics competition. The competition was at the Christchurch School of Gymnastics at QEII.

Mr Leith went to China to visit Chinese Intermediate schools and to get Chinese kids to come to Casebrook.

In assembly on the 26th of June 2018 Sam Hicks received the Sir Peter Blake Young Leader Award, for leadership and courage. Sam received this reward from Christina, a representative from Westpac.

On Wednesday the 27th of June, 40 Casebrook students went to Halswell Quarry.

Megan Bennetts is a member of St John's Christchurch division number 3. So we went and interviewed her about it, and this is what we found out.
