Junior girls were invited to take a quote from a Shakespearean Drama and create an A4 poster.

Our school had six girls enter these championships which were held at Wilding Park on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

This year the Junior (Year 9 & 10) and Senior (Year 11 – 13) prizegiving ceremonies will be held separately. The Senior ceremony will be held at Christchurch Boys’ High School on Monday 10 December starting at 6.00pm. The Junior ceremony will be held 9.00am, Thursday 13 December in the CGHS Gymnasium.

The Year 13 Business Studies course being run in 2019 is looking for volunteers to mentor our students participating in the Young Enterprise Scheme.

Next week will be the last week for students to give to our school Christmas Giving Tree. Thank you to those families who have contributed a gift, however our tree is looking a little sad. We are still accepting donations of gifts for children, teens, families who might otherwise go without a present this Christmas. At the end of our Junior Curriculum project, during our Celebration of Learning ( Wednesday 12 December), the gifts will be distributed between Women's Refuge and/or the Salvation Army and/or the Christchurch City Mission.

The Māori Education Trust 2019 Scholarship Programme is now open and offers scholarships to Māori secondary and tertiary students who meet the respective scholarship’s criteria.

Applications for the ‘Adrienne Lillian Stephens Scholarship’ are now being received.

Earlier this year we officially launched the Holden Street Smart road safety programme, a hands-on driver-skills programme that aims to equip young kiwis with the knowledge and skills to safely navigate our roads.
