"Columba College teams sweep top three places"

Our best wishes go with Samantha Wan (Yr 13) and Hannah Cole (Yr 10) this weekend as their work is being assessed for a place in the SGCNZ finals being held in Wellington this weekend. Samantha is in the final for her design for the Adam Foundation Shakespeare Static Image and Poster Competition, and Hannah is in the final for her essay for the Ida Gaskin Shakespeare Essay Competition. Sophie Baron (Yr 12) is also part of the Festival as she will take part in workshops in preparation for her trip to The Globe in July as a New Zealand representative.

Our Kids Lit Quiz team competed in the national finals in Wellington last weekend and were placed 4th= in NZ from the 17 competing teams.

Columba Multi-sport captain Megan Maslin , and year 11 students Phoebe Ozanne, Caitlin O'Brien and Emily Prout had a great weekend adventure racing in Geraldine at the Hillary Outdoors 6hr race.

A highlight in May is the Otago University Annual Cultural Quiz where senior students compete against other schools for great prizes.

Yesterday Columba College had seven students take part in the Otago Secondary School Cross Country ran by OUSSSA at Kaikorai Valley College.

This week the Year 4 Class created artworks from our natural environment.We were inspired by the world renown environmental artist, Andy Goldsworthy. Working in pairs, we created our own artwork using natural items which we found in our school grounds. We had to be creative and work collaboratively.

On Monday Columba hosted the annual inter-school between St Andrew's College, John McGlashan and ourselves.

On Tuesday 28th of May, the Year 5 and 6 pupils were involved in the 'Skills and Drills' day at the Edgar Centre.
