With 72 students spending their Saturday in the library, this year's Read-a-thon was a tremendous success!

The annual Columba College Book Week was a huge success with something fun for everyone.

Over the 8th - 12th of May, Ashlea Law, Poppy Henderson and Emma Morton competed at the New Zealand Division II Swimming Competition held at Moana Pool.

Year 12 Biology students picked the perfect day to conduct Marine Biology research at Portobello. After the supermoon, we had very low tides and picturesque, clear conditions.

On Sunday the 15th of May, three members of our Columba College Trap Shooting team attended their first Intercollegiate shoot in Invercargill alongside many other schools, including John McGlashan, St Hilda's and Otago Boys.

On Tuesday 17th May, the annual Otago Secondary School Sport Association's cross country series kicked off at Logan Park and, despite wet and cold conditions, our Columba team of athletes achieved some outstanding results.

Every year our Regional Sporting bodies are finding it increasingly difficult to run their secondary school sporting competitions due to a dire lack of referees and umpires. Dunedin Netball in particular has a massive shortage of umpires, and the call has gone out to every school and club to play their part in identifying, developing, and supporting umpires for their competition.

Practice examinations help our students prepare for their high-stakes assessments but we need support from our community to ensure they are a success.
