Grow: Why You Should Be Kind

We’ve all heard the saying, ‘you should never judge a book by its cover’, but unfortunately, people sometimes do. People can often be quick to judge others without giving them the benefit of the doubt, without knowing what someone is going through.

We come across all kinds of people in our lives. Some people we like, some people we don’t.  Some people will like you and some people won’t and that’s perfectly fine.  The biggest thing to remember is that when we come across personalities that may not share the same values as you, always remain kind.  Sometimes there are unknown reasons for people to act the way they are.

As quoted by Andrea Russett, ‘You will just never know what someone is dealing with behind closed doors.  No matter how happy someone looks, how loud their laugh is, how big their smile is, there can still be a level of hurt that is indescribable.  So be kind.  Even when others are not, choose to be kind’.

SchoolDocs - Policy Reviews

Term 3 Policies and Procedures
by Gerhard Potgieter

Cust School uses SchoolDocs to review and update our policies and procedures.

In term 3 we are reviewing topics in the Employer Responsibilities section. See the full 2024 Review Schedule and Board Assurances .

Who reviews our policies and procedures?

  • All reviews are open to board members, staff, students, and the school community (parents/caregivers/whānau).

  • Anyone can review any policy/procedure that has a review button.

The board is responsible for board-level overarching policies. The table below shows which topics the board should review. Note that other reviewers can review these topics too; they're not exclusively for the board. See Board Responsibility.
