Connecting Faith - A New Opportunity

Bishop Steven Benford —

At Synod in September, we were inspired by Rev'd Richard Johnson's and Jonathan Wood's journeys to connect faith in rural and urban communities. The Diocese has been successful in receiving funding to employ a person to take this further in our more rural and remote areas.

Bishop Steve writes...

St John's Theological College Trust Board released a new round of funding coming out of the Covid19 situation. The Diocese submitted an application for a fixed three year term appointment of a Diocesan Community Ministry Enabler and I am delighted to announce that the application was successful.

This new position will focus on educating and supporting ministry among our small, remote or isolated communities,  building on developments already learnt from the recent Covid imposed restrictions, nourishing ministry in each place and establishing a network of mentors to inform and support.

The position is advertised now on our Vacancies page, and attached below, with applications due by Monday 19 October 2020.

I see this as an exciting new opportunity to develop ministry initiatives in  rural and remote locations in our Diocese and look forward with excitement and hope to where God is leading us.
