We have a number of copies of the original prayer book (1989) available for new homes. Later editions have some revisions and additional content, but these ones are still able to be used.

If your faith community would like one - or you would appreciate a copy for your own use at home, please contact us by email or phone 03 488 0821 and we will get some to you.

Let us know anything that your Parish, community service or other organisation is doing and we will place it here. Make sure you visit this page regularly and keep all that is going on in your prayers.

Upcoming Movie releases of interest:

BONHOEFFER in New Zealand cinemas on March 27, 2025.

This powerful film, from the studio behind The Chosen and Sound of Freedom, tells the inspiring story of Dietrich Bonhoeffer—a theologian, pastor, and martyr whose faith and courage continue to inspire Christians today. (See information attached)

THE KING OF KINGS will be in cinemas on 10 April 2025 in New Zealand. This animated film, which features an all-star cast including Kenneth Branagh, Uma Thurman, Mark Hamil, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, Forest Whitaker, and Oscar Isaac, brings to life the story of Jesus Christ through the imaginative lens of Charles Dickens narrating to his son, Walter.  Watch the trailer here.

Our  gathering for reflective prayer will begin again at 8.00am (Yes!), Saturday March 22nd, at the St Kilda Surf Club, whatever the weather! 

 

2...With Save The Otago Peninsula (STOP)...

1.30pm Saturday March 29th, at Smiths Creek. NB: SATURDAY, not Sunday.

An opportunity to release last year's plantings from overgrowth of grass and weeds. A good metaphor for life as well!

 

BRING: layers of clothing, strong shoes, sun protection, drinking water, a mug, and a friend.

WE PROVIDE: all gardening gear, hot water and drinks.

Community of the Cross of Nails (CCN) - Invitation from Rev'd Michael Holdaway, St Michael and All Angels, Otago Peninsula Parish

Please join with us on Sunday 23 March 2025 6pm Potluck tea, service at 7pm.

We have recently partnered with Knox Church and have been accepted as a member of the Community of the Cross of Nails, Coventry Cathedral. At this service, we will be presented with the Cross of Nails by Jane and Martin from Coventry. All welcome.

Meditative/contemplative prayer

Every Wednesday a time of meditative/contemplative prayer is offered in the small meeting room at Holy Cross Church – (access 5 Bellona St St Kilda.) We gather at 5.30 pm and move quickly into some stilling music and then 30 mins silent prayer. All are welcome to join us.
