Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year or Spring Festival, is a festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar.

Congratulations to Josephine and Jackson who were elected onto the Student Council for the first two terms of 2024. They were both absent when last week's photo of the new Student Council was taken.

At East Taieri School we celebrated World Read Aloud Day on Wednesday.

We will be having a 'Whānau Connect/Meet the Teacher' evening on Wednesday 21 February when parents/caregivers will have have an opportunity to meet their children's teacher for a 5 minute catch up, sharing information about how children have settled in and setting goals together for 2024. The Board of Trustees has approved two Teacher Only Days this year to be taken on 31 May and 25 October.Teachers will be involved in Professional Development around significant changes in curriculum and assessment.
