Over the past year and a half, myself and a group of passionate conservation students who study Conservation and Earthcare at the West Coast Trades Academy through Papa Taiao and Greymouth High School have led a project called, Trees for Māwhera.

Last week our senior students who enrolled in the Employment and Life Skills Trades course had the chance to have a go at abseiling. There were some incredibly proud students with overcoming their fears to give this a go.

On Thursday 8 September the Level 2 & 3 geography students spent the day out at Rapahoe, Barrytown and Punakaiki Beaches gathering data for their research standard based on beach processes.
