The newsletter reimagined for the digital age

Hail Team —

Publish your content in a completely new way. Ideal for weekly, monthly and short-term periodicals, the Newsletter style is perfect for scannable content with prominent notices.

When we first launched Hail we wanted the initial publications to be innovative and impactful, so we designed and developed the Magazine style with large, engaging photography and a strong focus on the cover feature article.

The Magazine's aesthetic and page-like navigation best suits smaller, brochure-style publications with cohesive themes, but what if you want to publish a larger, more diverse collection of articles, that may only have a time frame in common? That's where the Newsletter comes in.

Don't be fooled by the name — we've taken the classic newsletter and completely revamped it for the contemporary content landscape:

  • Because of the broad, and likely contrasting nature of the individual articles, they are presented as separate, interlocking content blocks with full hero photography, lead paragraphs and gallery thumbnails to entice readers to dive deeper.

  • We recognised that Newsletter articles may be less likely to feature photography than those chosen for a Magazine, so text-only articles have been optimised for maximum impact.

  • As Newsletters contain potentially dozens of articles we included a new way for readers to navigate by their interests. This was quickly achievable because the content you create in Hail is so easily categorised with tags. We brought that powerful categorization to life in the Newsletter by including the article tags at the top of the first content block to act as filters. For example, if a reader just wanted to check out Sport related content from the Newsletter they can click on the tag and all the non-sport content blocks will temporarily fade away.

  • Equally important for a newsletter are the accompanying Notices. These are also prominently highlighted within the first content block.

As always, the Newsletter publication as well as the individual articles are optimised for social sharing through Facebook, Twitter and Email. This increases your brand's reach and audience growth as more and more people read your beautifully presented, accessible content.

So if you're a Hail user check out the Newsletter publication type today, you'll find it as an option for both new publications and you can even swap the style of existing ones.

Then be sure to let us know what you think, we love getting your feedback and your comments often help shape future Hail features.
