Txema Mazet-Brown works towards competing in the Junior World Snowboarding Championships
Txema’s winter season is going really well despite the obvious COVID set-backs.
Snow Sports has extended his training to make up for time lost during lockdown, so he will be on leave until the 29th of October to give himself the best possible chance at being selected for the New Zealand team for the Junior World Championships next year.
Although it is now technically spring, the conditions are much like mid-winter down south. The temperatures have dropped and Cardrona and Snow Sports are working really hard to make the most of the extra snow and cold mountain conditions. The Olympic superpipe is now open and there’s an airbag set up to help them push their tricks harder all within the safety of a soft landing!
There are a few competitions still to go - New Zealand Junior Nationals in October, followed by the last event in the SSNZ Freestyle Series and finally a mock competition to help with New Zealand team selections. So it’s all go right now! Txema is working hard on and off the snow and we look forward to following his progress.
