2023 VOLLEYBALL SEASON SUMMARY

The 2023 junior volleyball season ended positively with our Senior Boys Team coming 3rd in NZ and both of our premier junior teams achieving at the Division One Level of the North Island Championships.

 It has been an outstanding end to the season with over 15 volleyball teams participating at regional level this year. We have completed trials and we are moving quickly into our preparations for the 2024 Volleyball season which kicks off with the senior season and the NZ volleyball championship in Palmerston North. As NZ semi finalists last year, our premier Boys team is already training and are working hard to maintain or raise the level they attained last year. It has been a busy year with volleyball numbers doubling.

A huge thank you goes out to the dedicated and talented team of coaches that are supporting HHS and our students in such a capable manner(Jack Sheppard, Jess Pasene, Harrison McKenzie, Kyla Te Wano Greensill, Keirryn Hintz, and a group of wonderful senior students). We would like to acknowledge the recent addition of Cameron Ward and Antony Smith to the coaching staff. Interestingly, all but Antony are ex students of Hillcrest High School.
