French Day

The International Languages Week is just about to be over and the French Day was first up last Monday.

The involvement from all students was great to see, in particular when it has to do with food. There was a long queue to eat the famous crêpe that my year 12 and 13 students generously made. A big shout out to them! They are awesome in and out of class.

A French flag was also painted on students’ cheeks, pictures were taken with a French-looking board in the background and at interval, we played pétanque (a typical bowl game played in the south of France) by the music courtyard.

At the beginning of August, we had the pleasure to welcome Marie Albrecht into our midst. Marie is an exchange Swiss student who’s staying with Erika Piper for two months and then Erika will be heading to Switzerland at the end of the year for two months too. Marie is 16 years-old, an ex-skiing national champ and already speaks good English. If you ever see a new face accompanying Erika, say “Salut!”
