A big thank you to Southern Woods Tree Nursery for donating 42 Totara and Mountain Beech trees (valued at $20 each) for our innovative Year 9 Treehouse project.

Week 5 of school saw a few visitors to our school.

The Year 9 technology "tree-house project" sponsored by Southern Woods will conclude at the end of this term.

The most awaited 2023 Cantamath Team Competition was held this year on the 23th of August at the Wolfbrook Arena.

In an innovative partnership between Hornby High School, Miles Construction, and Kainga ora, our senior Hard Materials students are breaking new ground by gaining first-hand, on-site experience right at the heart of construction projects in the Hornby community.

Winter has left and Summer is coming! Huge congratulations to all the Hornby High School winter sports teams.

Kia ora Koutou! My name is Carolyn Thomas and I am a qualified and experienced NZAC Counsellor.

After an initial career in midwifery, I retrained to become a counsellor.

A group of keen Hornby High students that were interested in a variety of health professions boarded the taxi shuttle to Christchurch Hospital, Manawa training centre.

Our trade evening started on a cold and blustery evening, but parents and students braved the weather and came along. A hot drink and biscuits helped with the cold.

This week the Hornby High School Football Team went to Nelson to participate in the Jim Wishart tornament. I am so proud of this team who gave 110% to every game and always kept the Hornby pride and positive attitude, even when we were getting smashed.

At the start of the week, 6 of our students represented Hornby High School at the Canterbury Secondary Schools Badminton tournament.

Hornby High School Defeated James Hargest College in the final 3 sets to Nil. So very proud of the talent shown over the last 3 days

I am so proud of these girls. We finished off placing 9th out of 24 schools. Won 6 Lost 2.

Congratulations to the Year 7&8 league team who beat Chisnallwood in the final to become 2023 Caims Champions!!

The hockey team finished our tournament with a 0-0 draw vs Cobham Intermediate giving us an 8th place result.

The Stars Peer Mentors need your help! We are on a mission to collect canned food for the Salvation Army. We’ll be hosting a ‘bring a can week’ from the 4th-8th of September, but you can bring in cans of food until the end of term. Everyone from Year 7-13 can drop their cans off to the Graeme Dingle office in T Block or the front reception. Thank you for supporting our Stars Community Project!
