New Sports Uniform for all JMC pupils in 2016

From term 1, 2016 a new sports uniform policy will be in place.

Dear JMC Parents

Over the last few years the John McGlashan sports uniform has taken on a life of its own with many different looks. Sometimes it is difficult to recognize our teams from all the other schools competing at various venues around Dunedin and New Zealand. As our present uniforms stocks have become worn and dated,

the time is right to bring a new look to our sports wear and at the same time change the ownership module we operate under.

From term 1, 2016 our sports uniform will have a complete makeover. We will have a similar look across all codes. First teams will be readily identifiable with more white panels on their strip. A similar look to the current 1st XV.undefined

From term 1 of next year, boys will purchase their own sports wear. Although there will be an initial extra cost incurred, this will be offset by the cessation of the uniform hire charges. It is also expected that a second hand market will emerge and parents can recoup some of their outlay. Other cost savings will occur as our tops can be used across several codes as well as in PE.

Our supplier is Otago Sports Depot and Canterbury International. The school will not hold stock so all orders are to be made through Brent Davies at Otago Sports Depot or online through the same supplier. The College’s aim is to deliver a quality product at the lowest price to parents and students.

We are very happy with the new look, which we hope to share with you very shortly. In the meantime this letter is to inform you of the upcoming changes in policy and design. We advise that you hold off purchasing any new sports uniforms and PE clothing until the new line arrives at the beginning of January 2016.
