Volunteer Extraordinaire!
Year 10 student Anne Barker has been volunteering for the West Coast Riding for the Disabled every Wednesday this year.
Anne makes an amazing contribution to the WCRDA, helping school aged riders with a range of physical and learning challenges learn to ride and build their confidence, strength, and sense of purpose. She also contributes to horse care and pasture management on the weekends.
This week we’ve learned that a photo of Anne leading a young rider was voted the second-best image in the NZRDA calendar competition. This photo will be one of the 12 in the calendar which is a major national fundraiser to support the running of NZRDA (a charitable organisation with no government funding). When the calendar is ready, we’ll share the link so that those keen to support the NZRDA can order one.
