Students have been busy this week with Catholic Character retreats, penguin autopsies, futsal competitions, and the Science roadshow for Year 9 & 10 students this afternoon.

During Karakia on Monday we celebrated St Theresa of Avila as it was her feast day on Sunday 15 October. We acknowledged her as significant because she was the first woman to be acknowledged as a doctor of the church, she was a mystic and her writings have been read by many down the centuries.

Kaiau Burns won his first heavyweight title, winning gold in his Fight for Rangatahi match in Motueka on 5 March! His win was unanimous decision.

Lucy Waller from the West Coast Penguin Trust and Marjan Sprock who is a vet and on our school BOT, brought in deceased Korora (blue penguins) which had been handed in and kept in storage (frozen).

StudyIt forums are now available for students preparing for end-of-year exams in NCEA levels 1–3 English, maths or science.

Serena Moles and Carrie Vaughan from the Mayor’s Taskforce for Jobs were here on Monday 16th October to meet with students who are looking at entering the workforce. They will be back over the next two weeks if you missed out!
