It has been a week - PBL making and creating, market day and the music soirée! Wow - and it only continues to ramp up to the end of year. Thank you to everyone for supporting our Kaikorai tamariki!

Market day 💰

What a success our most recent PBL has been. Designing, prototyping, redesigning, marketing and promoting, making and creating, exchanging money at the bank, budgeting and careful spending ! 

Thanks to our teachers who have made this PBL happen, and have spent many of their own hours buying the materials needed and planning engaging learning programmes for our tamariki.

Kaikorai Primary and Balmacewen Intermediate Orchestra Workshop

What a fantastic our musicians had this week. Read all about it here. The soirée last night was outstanding also, The commitment our musicians have displayed to get ready for this performance is exceptional. Well done to all those who performed.

Principal's awards

Nixon  Always going above and beyond to help new classmates settle into their class and get familiar with the routines. Tino pai!

Theo Continues to show good cooperative skills when working with others, and he also is good at settling to work and demonstrating good independent work habits. Ka pai!

Hugo For designing an excellent advertisement to go alongside his product to sell at our PBL market day. Tino pai!

Yeva Her fantastic work in mathematics. Yeva is a great problem solver. Keep up the super effort!

Jade For always being a kind friend by doing and saying nice things for others!

Charlotte For making super progress in all areas of school and becoming an independent learner. Tino pai rawa atu!

Layla For her thoughtful contributions to class discussions and her outstanding efforts in all areas of learning.

Alexis For showing enthusiasm during the preparation of our class assembly. You have sung and performed your heart out! Hei whetū koe! You are a star!

Lara For working independently at her activities and trying hard to complete them to a high standard. Tino pai!

Aria For being a kind and loyal friend and a helpful class member. Ka pai!

Mia For your incredible positivity and manners during our activity week. It was an absolute pleasure to take you out of the classroom.

Benny For your outstanding efforts with helping others during our recent art lessons. Mrs Cleland was so impressed!

Leon For demonstrating the KAIK values everyday! You are always kind and enthusiastic about your learning. Mīharo!

Noah For being a creative thinker and problem solver. You communicate your ideas clearly and come up with great solutions. Mīharo!

Community news 

  • City of Readers’ Summer Reading Programme  📚 From December the 1st, children can register online or at their local library, set their goals and start reading! Once they are registered, children can pick up their summer reading pack from their library or bookbus. The pack includes fun activities and a booklet to record the details of their reading. They can find ideas for books to read, things to do and events on our special ‘City of Readers’ Summer Reading Programme page. Once they have reached their goal, children can take their booklet to their local library to be entered into the grand prize draw for some cool prizes.
